A Huge THANK YOU to Storm Bowling Products

Storm Bowling Products became our Title Sponsor in February 2016 and our first Scholarship fundraiser ball raffle was March 20, 2016. Since that time they have helped up raise a whopping $17,000 to more than double our scholarship awards, all of which has been awarded and deposited into the USBC SMART Program. With their generosity, we were able to assign over $34,000.00 the last two seasons! If you are bowling the OJC’s and want to win, use Storm Bowling Products. They ARE the bowler’s company! All you have to do is watch the PBA televised finals each week. The huge majority of bowlers on the telecast in my opinion are using Storm Bowling Products.

Gary Yamasaki to lead Oregon Junior Classics into the future

We were ecstatic to announce that longtime leader, author, and Hall of Famer in the Greater Portland bowling community Gary Yamasaki has committed to lead the Classics into the future. He rolled the OJC’s in it’s inaugural year, 1975 when it was the Pacific NW Junior Classics, then the name changed to NW Junior Classics and a few years later to the Oregon Junior Classic Tournament Association.

He is currently in the process of creating spreadsheets for on site computer use to streamline the effectiveness of the data entry processing of information and statistics. Something that has been desperately needed for a long time.

The transition process will take some time to accomplish with the large amount of special offerings the Classics present to it’s membership such as the 4 scratch divisions with club averages, All Star Teams, banners, fundraising, scholarships and much more.

A Special thanks to Storm Bowling Products and our Youth Leadership Team. With Storm’s support and our junior leadership team’s fundraising efforts, the team raised a total of $6,359.00 for the 9 events that had ball raffles this season. That’s an average of over $700 per event! We are always looking to add to our leadership Team. Join today. Become a leader and represent your center. There are incentives and rewards.

Club Averages and All Star points start with the Sunset Lanes Classic on September 17th

If your goal is to be competitive and work to make the All Star Team for 2018, you will need to focus on making all the events. Each season there are several members that miss the team due to missing only one event.

Ball Raffle Results for August 6, 2017

The Storm Ball Raffle winner for August 6, 2017 was Phil Cotton of Firebird Lanes. Congratulations Phil!! He can choose any Storm bowling ball listed on their world wide web site. Support our youth. Purchase Storm Ball Raffle Tickets!

We are the oldest junior tournament membership club in the Northwest (maybe the entire country) and are a scratch only tournament club. That’s why we have 4 divisions, so everyone can fit into a scratch event that fits their average. What you see on the monitor is what you are bowling against. NO SURPRISES! Win an event and you earn a banner with your name on it. It will be displayed at all events as long as you remain active. When you leave juniors, you get to take your banner with you. Each event ends with award presentation. You bowl and leave with your award the same day. Our next event is the Sunset Lanes Classic at Sunset Lanes in Beaverton on September 17th.

Discounts for Doubles discontinued

Due to many years of our doubles tournaments being carried by our singles events, we are no longer issuing discounts for our doubles events. Our cost for doubles is considerably higher than singles and need to stand financially on their own. Be prepared for a raise in entry soon.

Need to contact us?

Due to a mountain of unwanted solicitation calls, telemarketers, computer generated calls, and calls without numbers, we have blocked all incoming calls that have their originating identification and numbers blocked. If your name or phone number is blocked for your outgoing calls, you will not get through to our phone. We average over 25 unwanted blocked telemarketers, scammers, and scumbags trying to get us to answer each day. We have also had emails trying to get information about some of our bowlers. We DO NOT give out information to unidentified parties. So if you want us to answer your emails, you will need to complete your message by identifying yourself at the conclusion (put your name to it). Most emails we can go to our files and eventually figure it out, but should we have to spend extra time searching our files for an email address we do not readily recognize? We don’t file information by email addresses or USBC numbers.
